Resident  I.D.  CARDS

On January 3rd, 2017 we began taking appointments to provide a Resident Card for the City of South Bend (SBID). Since that date we have worked with communities throughout Indiana and around the country to help start and support resident cards. We have worked with cities from MN to TX and visited cities around the country to share our program.

Resident cards are for every resident, and especially target populations that have difficulty obtaining other forms of photo identification. This is one way we have helped empower families and communities and help them interact with the community in which they live. To date we have launched programs in South Bend, Goshen, Plymouth and have worked with several other communities to launch similar programs.

What are the benefits of a Resident I.D. Card?
Ultimately, resident I.D. cards are designed to help keep our community safe. Resident I.D. cards allows residents to identify themselves for instances when picking up children from school, obtaining financial statements, and ordering official transcripts from a local college or university. A primary benefit will be to interact with city services such as the police department, fire department, and city buildings/services.
