Latinx Youth Leadership special initiative to recruit and train the future generation of Latinx leaders
Latinx Youth Leader (LYL) is an initiative taking place April 15-16 and for six weeks after for 50 promising Latinx teenagers in high school grades 9 and 10. Our goal is to recruit five individuals each from 10 different schools who will stand up and learn what it takes to be a leader. This program is offered for free, at no cost to the students. There will be two back-to-back full-day training experiences on April 15 and April 16 at La Casa de Amistad. After the two day training experience, the group will continue to meet weekly for six weeks to complete a project to improve the lives of Latinx individuals in our community. During the interactive sessions, teens will learn from experts on topics related to identity, self-esteem, leadership skills, decision-making, positive relationships, networking, and restorative justice. Youth will have the opportunity to compete to win free iPads through challenges throughout the initiative. We are searching for five Latinx students from ten eligible high schools for this free, exciting opportunity. Do not hesitate to apply!
