Supporting our community includes training and programs to help people get ahead in life. Our language and skill development programs help our clients connect better in the community, get ahead at work and set a foundation for their family members.
English Language (EL/ENL) Classes:
Held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm-8PM
Classes in the fall and spring (MaryCrest building)
Administer pre-test for placement and teach four levels of English classes, from basic to advanced level students. Students are guided through the program by volunteer instructors.
EL for Citizenship Classes: Bilingual
Held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am-1pm and 5-7pm (MaryCrest building)
Three Semesters of 10 weeks each (Fall, Spring, Summer)
We do pre and post-testing of students, provide large and small group instruction (by Indiana Accredited EL teachers) of English language skills, US History, Citizenship, and Civics, in both English and Spanish. We have materials to help study, and we prepare students with mock interviews and practice session in class and when they have their Citizenship interview scheduled. Our program continues its proud 10 year history of 100% pass rate of the Citizenship interview and exam among the students who complete our class and apply for citizenship.
Citizenship Classes held in Spanish for those who qualify to naturalize in their native language 5-7pm, Tues./Thurs. three semesters per year. (Clase de ciudadania tambien en español 3 veces al año por los quien califican en su propio idioma)
Computer Skills Classes: Times Vary – Bilingual
Classes in four week cycles
From beginner to advanced, we have computer classes that can help from understanding windows and a desktop, to setting up an email account and searching the web all the way to advanced Excel and PowerPoint assistance. Please inquire about schedule and types of classes we are offering.

Looking for a job is harder than ever, and requires the use of technology. We want to help those in our community obtain access to better job opportunities. We can help make resumes, apply for jobs, type letters and help clients navigate the digital environment.
