Update: Dilley Pro Bono Project

Dilley Pro BonoReporting from Texas… while the Notre Dame football team prepares for their challenge, a group of Notre Dame Law School students is working hard as well in Texas. They are at the border with attorneys from Monterrosa Law Group, LLC working with the Dilley Pro Bono Project. Below a share by Jesusa Rivera, a community advocate on the trip:
“100 new mothers and their children arrived the other day… hearing the devastating stories these mother’s carry in their heart… Most mothers and children, if not all, are sick with a cold and cough.
Our work here involves intake, assisting and prepping them to begin the process of asylum. Great team work with everyone who is here… yesterday our day started at 7:30 am and ended at 10pm. Most of the SB volunteers (ND students) have already been up for hours, researching and preparing for what today will bring.
Keep these mother’s and their children in your prayers, especially a young little boy who has been very sick…
Thank you to those who donated to the Dilley Project. If you haven’t already, please donate following the link below or take a donation to La Casa De Amistad in South Bend.”
